Plastic is ubiquitous in our everyday lives. We use a lot of plastic, from water bottles to toys. But do you know that our environment is harmed by plastic? Find out more about plastic pollution and what we can do
Plastic pollution is a large epidemic that we face today. When we discard plastic items like bottles and bags, they can end up in the ocean and in landfills. This random packing can hurt animals and trash our world. Birds may become stuck in plastic bags that seem like trees, and sea turtles might eat plastic, mistaking it for food. This can sicken them or even kill them. That’s why it’s a good idea to consume less plastic and recycle it safely.
THERE ARE all sorts of clever new ideas for reducing plastic waste. A few companies are making biodegradable plastics that easily fragment in nature. In some stores, they chimney tray relying on paper bags, rather than plastic bags. We can do our part to help protect the planet for the future by using less plastic and coming up with new ways to recycle.

Micro plastics are small bits of plastic that oil mist separator can be harmful to ocean animals. And they are present everywhere — even in our oceans. Fish and other marine life might inadvertently eat these micro plastics, making them sick. And scientists are investigating how micro plastics impact marine life, and ways to clean them up. And by watching just how much plastic we use, we can help stop extra micro plastics from entering our oceans.

Virtually all ocean animals are affected by plastic pollution. Plastic waste can entangle fish, whales and dolphins, hurting or killing them. Plastic can poison some animals that bubble cap tray eat it, or make them sick, and the animals can die. We can make that world a reality by using less plastic and disposing of it the right way.

But now that we’re learning more about the impact of plastic pollution on our planet, we require alternatives to plastic of higher quality. Here and there, companies are developing eco-friendly materials that can serve as an alternative to common plastics. By adopting these superior alternatives, and increasing recycling, we can help lighten the bubble cap load of plastic waste that flows into our oceans and landfills.
